The Subscriptions are divided into two levels: Basic and Intermediate. Each subscription makes it possible for an enrolled student to receive the print materials needed for the courses in a particular level. The course content is delivered online, but the completed print materials must be submitted to the Searchlight Virtual School in order to receive credit for the courses and earn the corresponding certification. Wait for your confirmation e-mail with your Student Number before ordering a subscription.

With the Intermediate Plan, you receive the materials for these online courses:

Living Vatican II Today

Note: The courses in Intermediate/Level 1, while fewer in number than Basic/Foundation, are quite comprehensive in nature. Course 4 consists of six lessons; Course 5 consists of twelve lessons.

Also, while the work is the same for both Catechists and Catholic school teachers, the designation on the certificates of completion and the certification certificates is different.

Important things to know about the Searchlight Subscription Plans:

The subscription plan is purchased through PayPal. You will need to enter your Student Number in the space provided. Your student number was assigned at the time of your enrollment confirmation.
You may log in to an existing PayPal account, or pay with a credit card without setting up an account.
PayPal will walk you through the subscription procedure and process your order.
PayPal will send you an e-mail confirming your subscription order. (You should print this for your records.)
Your subscription is valid for one year from date of purchase. If you do not complete the courses within that timeframe you will need to reorder the subscription.
After you place your order, you will receive an e-mail with the print materials for the course attached. This attachment is an electronic PDF, and it contains all the worksheets for all the courses in the subscription plan you purchased. The course content is delivered online (see the “Courses” page), but you will enter all of your reflections and responses to the questions into this PDF document.
You may also print the PDF and input the data by hand. In this case, you will have to submit your completed course materials by mail. (See the “Contacts” page for the mailing address.)
Important: The e-mail with the PDF document attached will contain instructions for downloading and saving. It is very important that you follow these directions. Everything will run more smoothly if you do.
Always save your work! If you close the PDF without saving your data, the information will be lost.
Remember, the completed course materials must be sent to the Searchlight Virtual School in order to receive your certification.
Please return the course materials electronically by attaching the document to an e-mail, rather than using the auto-submit button at the end of the document. As stated above, you may also mail in your work.
If you purchase a subscription and do not receive the course materials from us within 24-48 hours, please contact us immediately.
If you encounter difficulties with the PayPal process, please call us. We will work out another payment method.
