The SCF Enrollment Process and Application

Determine If You Can Access the Online Tutorials

 

You need:

•  High speed internet connection.

•  Acrobat Reader: Please install or upgrade to the most current version. This application is necessary to support the electronic PDFs associated with each course. (Note: Electronic PDFs with interactive text fields are not supported on mobile devices and must be filled out via computer. But, if you do want to be able to complete your interactive course PDFs on a mobile device, obtain the free Adobe Fill&Sign App.)

 

Note: The online tutorial portion of each course is accessible on mobile devices.

Review the SCF Policies Page

 

All School of Christian Formation enrollees should visit the SCF Policies page and review the information provided. The page will open in a separate browser window, so to return to this page, simply close the "SCF Policies" page.

Apply for Enrollment in the Searchlight Virtual School

 

When you click on the "Open Enrollment Application" button below, an electronic Application for Enrollment form will open. Fill out the form and submit it. A copy of the form will be sent to your e-mail. Please save a copy for your file. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact: Michelle@SearchlightVS.com.

 

A $5.00 Process Fee is also required along with the Enrollment Application. Please remember to submit this fee. The enrollment process cannot go forward until both the enrollment application and processing fee are received.

 

Watch Your E-mail For Your Enrollment Confirmation

 

When both your Enrollment Application and the $5.00 Processing Fee are in place, you will receive a confirmation e-mail providing your Student Number and further instructions for purchasing your first course.

 

Order Your First SCF Course

 

Follow the directions provided with your confirmation e-mail to order your first course.

 

•  Cost: $30.00 per course

•  Plus the purchase of the required course text

 

When notification of your order is confirmed, you will receive your materials as an attachment to an e-mail.

 

Note: SCF students are responsible for obtaining the required course text. The Searchlight Virtual School does not supply the course texts.

There are two parts to the enrollment process: Submitting the Enrollment Application and paying the Processing Fee. When both are complete, you will receive an e-mail confirming your enrollment, assigning your student number, and providing instructions for getting started with your online courses. Please read the section on using PayPal.

First, submit the Enrollment Application:

 

•  Click the button to open the electronic Enrollment Application, fill it out, and click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

•  A copy of the Enrollment Application will be sent to your e-mail address. Save a copy for your file.

Once you've submitted the enrollment application, remember to come back to this page and submit the $5.00 Processing Fee! The enrollment process can't proceed until you do.

Note: When you click "Submit" at the bottom of the Enrollment Application, you will be redirected to this page to pay the Processing Fee.

Important Notice: The electronic Enrollment Application is supported on mobile devices.

Important things to know about using PayPal:

 

•  The processing fee is paid electronically through PayPal. (If you are submitting your Processing Fee by mail, you should send a $5.00 check payable to Ocean East Publishing. Go to the "Contact" Page to access the mailing address.)

•  You may log in to an existing PayPal account or pay with a credit card.

•  If you choose to set up a PayPal account, will be asked to create a username and password.  Please make note of these, as you will need to log in to your account to order your online courses.

•  PayPal will walk you through the payment procedure and process your fee payment.

•  PayPal will send you an e-mail confirming your payment.  (You should print this for your records.)

•  When we receive both your Enrollment Application and notification that the Processing Fee has been paid, you will receive an e-mail confirming your enrollment. This e-mail will assign your student number and provide further instructions to help you get started with your online courses.

•  Important: The charge on your credit card will be to Ocean East Publishing. All or part of that company name may appear on your bill. The Searchlight Virtual School is a division of Ocean East Publishing. Please do not instigate a "charge back" to your credit card because you do not see "Searchlight Virtual School" on your bill.
